Thanks for a great read Glenice and for giving a shout out to fellow Aussie Substackers. I agree with you that most of the content I see on here is overseas based. Keep up the great work.
Thanks so much Lo for your message. Its greatly appreciated. I’m working on a post to explain how to use substack further as I don’t think everyone realises how much there is to explore. The more Australian Substackers to follow the better!. Thanks for your Substack articles too. I love seeing what you are creating.
Thanks for the shout out Glenice! I only found out about the new Home and Garden category too and it feel so good to have a dedicated category. I think I was floating around in Culture for a while! Here’s to sharing more Aussie content 👏
Thank you, Glenice, for including me, and even though I'm not a gardener, I love visiting gardens and of course flowers! A lovely update with local events, shame I don't live near you to check them out. I look forward to your ongoing newsletters. I also subscribe to Cass Dowding, I love Cass's endearing conversations and honest approach. I subscribe to more floristry/flower type Substack's including Ellen Frost and Georgie Newbury who are both flower growers and florists, however they are from the U.S. and U.K. But I haven't across too many Australian gardeners, but I will look out for them.
Hi Cerina there is definitely an overlap between gardening and floristry / flowers. Just in the last 6 months I have myself started growing more flowers at home and have actually sold bunches of home grown flowers locally. I love seeing flower / florist content. If there are any WA events you think I should mention let me know. A few weeks ago I posted about the Kalumunda Garden Festival. I just heard this week about a South west WA garden tour that Im waiting to hear back about before I post it.
Let me know if there is anything I should post about for WA.
Thank you Glenice. Well done on growing and selling your own flowers, it must be very satisfying. I listened to a podcast about Kalamunda Garden Festival a few weeks ago and about the great success they’ve had. Of course our wildflowers is probably what the west is best known for. I’ve written an article or 2 in that previously. We have an amazing inner city park named Kings Park which is particularly impressive in Spring. But there is so much more I’ve yet to explore.

It is so good to have the home and garden category! Will let you know if I hear back about any other Australian Substack subscribers.
